Telemachus, Luke Skywalker, Bobby Fisher: the value of being well mentored

It is no longer news that linear careers are becoming increasingly rare. We must constantly reinvent ourselves, and even retrain, during our professional lives. A daily odyssey, sometimes full of pitfalls, frustrations and doubts, but also of encounters that are as determining as they are virtuous.

For a person in transition in the tech industry, mentoring proves to be an invaluable tool to face the challenges and obstacles on their way.

Throughout the presentation, through a comparison of the journeys of three iconic characters - Telemachus, Luke Skywalker and Bobby Fisher - I will propose a study of modern mentoring practices that I have been fortunate to receive.

At the end of this conference, we will have seen that mentoring is a crucial part of everyone's personal and professional development, whether through formal mentoring programs or informal relationships.

Also, through my feedback, I will share how to seek out and cultivate mentoring relationships, as well as the positive impact it has had and continues to have on my new journey.
